  • PALS allows you to see items for every public library in Pinellas and to request most items.
  • Your default password is the last 4 digits of your phone number. Please call us with any password issues.
  • If you are registered in one Pinellas public library, you are registered in all of the libraries.

If you live in a Cooperative Member City (like Oldsmar) or in the unincorporated areas of Pinellas County, you are entitled to an Oldsmar Library Card.

Temporary residents may apply for a free library card that can be used only at the Oldsmar Library. Please bring a photo id and proof of where you are staying. These cards expire after three months.

Any Pinellas resident living in a non-PPLC participating community is eligible for a White PPLC card for a $100.00 fee.

Children 15 and under must have a parent/guardian signature. Children 16 and up may register themselves with a school photo ID.

  • You may register here for a temporary card if you
    • Do not currently have a PPLC Library Card
    • Are 16 years old or older
    • Have a Florida ID or Driver's License
  • After the online application process is complete, you may place up to 5 holds on physical library items, and borrow 1 digital item from PPLC's Libby platform.
  • To be granted full privileges, visit a PPLC Member Library within 14 days to receive a permanent PPLC Library Card.
To register, you must provide the following:
  1. Identification, with your current local address, such as a current Florida Driver's License or Florida Identification Card
  2. -OR-
  3. A picture ID and any one of the following:
    • Your current trim notice, or tax bill
    • A current utility bill (includes cable television)
    • A long-term lease on property within the Cooperative area
    • A deed to property in the Cooperative area
    • Vehicle registration or title - current year
    • Voter's registration
    • Other appropriate identification
    • Cards are valid for 3 years
    • Your card is good at all Cooperative Libraries in Pinellas County
    • Please notify the library of lost library cards and phone or address changes
    • You are responsible for all items checked out on your library card
    • The card holder must be present for the card to be used
    • All library materials (except ILLs) may be returned to any PPLC library. We have outside book/video drops in the back of the building for your convenience.
    • The default password for your account is the last 4 digits of your phone number (whatever number you gave us when you registered). If this does not work, please call the Circulation Desk.

There is an overall limit of 50 items per card

Most items can be renewed 3 times if no one else is waiting for them.

You may renew non-overdue items online or by calling 813-749-1173. Please have your library card number available when you call.

We are now overdue fine free!


Items will automatically be renewed twice, unless they are on hold for another borrower

What happens if my items are overdue?
You will not be charged overdue fines, but your account will be blocked when items are 10 days overdue
Accounts will be unblocked when items are returned in good condition

What happens when my account is blocked?
You will receive a notice based on your account preferences (email, text or phone)
You will not be able to borrow library items, or access Overdrive/Libby
Your account will be billed for the cost of the outstanding items plus processing fees

How do I unblock my account?
Visit your local library to return or pay for lost/damaged items

What happens to the fines currently on my account?
All overdue fines were removed on October 1, 2021
Fines for previously lost/damaged items will remain on your account
